Creek Bend is a Bluegrass band based in Buffalo, NY that has been serving up good, hot bluegrass music for over thirty years.

Their favorite engagements each year have been playing and producing local concerts with the greatest names in Bluegrass music including; The Johnson Mountain Boys, Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, the Bluegrass Cardinals, Tony Trischka, Lynn Morris, the Country Gentleman and Bill Monroe (some 40 – 50 shows total). Their highly successful concert series not only allowed them the opportunity to present the best that Bluegrass has to offer to the audiences of Western New York and Southern Ontario but it has given Creek Bend the truly unique opportunity to watch and learn from the best. This learning experience proved highly beneficial to the band members when they won first place in the band contest at the Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival. Creek Bend has recorded a total of five projects including two that were released nationally by the Copper Creek label.

Creek Bend has been recording and performing Bluegrass and Americana music regionally around New York State, Pennsylvania and southern Ontario since 1978. Their records and CDs on the Copper Creek label from Roanoke VA have been distributed and enjoyed world wide. The band has taken first place in the Gettysburg Bluegrass festival band contest and has consistently been one of the most popular bands of any  style in WNY. Rich Schaefer is the bass player and MC and has been the voice of Bluegrass locally as host of the Bluegrass radio show at WBFO. Newest member Phil Banaszak is a former NYS fiddle champion and member of the Fiddlers Hall of Fame. Chris and Mark Panfil were inducted into the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame in 2016. All four members actively teach Bluegrass and fiddle music in the Buffalo area and beyond.
